Pay Structure

PRIDE TORONTO’S STANDARD RATES

These rates were created in reference to the various consultations with agencies, events and independent venues across Canada. Several standardized pay scales  and minimums from various federations, unions, guilds and associations in Ontario, Canada and Internationally have been referenced and adhered to while keeping the needs of both the organization and our artist community in mind.

Artist Career Stages are defined in accordance with the definitions provided by the Canadian Council For the Arts, Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Council.

Professional artists have been performing/maintaining an artistic practice for over two years; has developed their skills through training and/or practice; is recognized as such by artists working in the same artistic tradition; actively practices their art; seeks payment for their work; and has a history of public presentation.

Emerging/early career artists have less than two years experience and are not yet a widely recognizable name. Higher rates may be negotiated for local legends/renowned late career artists with high levels of national or international recognition on a case by case basis.
